A welcoming outdoor group for parents and their youngsters. Set in the beautiful grounds of Barnsley Herb Garden, with access to their herb garden, native woodland, meadow and food growing area, there is plenty of space for children and adults to enjoy being outdoors, and connect to nature.
Activities will change from week to week, but will include: nature-inspired arts and crafts, songs and stories, gardening, messy play, campfires, and lots of lovely outdoor space to explore.
We will provide a warm cup of tea or coffee for parents, and a small cup of hot chocolate for the little ones. We will ensure that there is well-ventilated shelter from the elements, should it be required. There is acccess to a compost toilet.
The group is led by Rowan Wynne-Jones, an experienced playworker, Forest School leader, teacher and youth worker.

These mornings promise to be ideal opportunities to connect with others, and nature, in the fresh air and beautiful surroundings, with plenty of space to chat, and run and play.

We are able to respond to location, and interests. If your child has any nature themed interests, we will endeavour to incorporate these into the activities on offer.
We provide marshmallows and drinks.
Adult to child ratio: For over-5’s, we require that there is 1 adult for every 8 children. For under-5’s we request that most parents stay. (Dependant upon covid-19 regulations)
